It's Your Botox Cosmetic Day Announcement, and yes, Thanksgiving Blog Day as well!

Good morning. I know I sound like a broken record when I remark about how time keeps flying by, but how is Thanksgiving next week? But before I get to Thanksgiving, I want to apologize that I was not able to find the time to blog in October. As a result, I missed commenting on Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So I'm sending a belated shoutout to all of those courageous women who have fought the breast cancer battle. As trends and protocols have changed for the treatment of breast cancer, many more women are opting for breast conservation surgery with their general surgeons, so we are tending to see fewer mastectomy procedures than in years past. And while breast conservation surgery has become more popular, I hope that one day we have a cure for this dreaded disease. On a high note, Avery, who has joined our team, is able to offer tattooing for areolar reconstruction! In addition to the areolar work, she also offers treatments for lashes and brows, as well as lips! She offers an alternative treatment to Microblading, called Nanoblading. Feel free to call the office with any questions regarding Nanoblading, and we have added information to our website.

One of the big news items of the day is that today is Botox Cosmetic Day, which means that Alle (the rewards program for Botox and Juvederm products) is offering a free $50 gift card for every one purchased! Additionally, double points are earned for those treated with Botox in November. Lastly, anyone treated in November has a chance to win $25,000. Now that's something to be thankful for! You can log into your Alle account to take advantage of these promotions, and if you don't have an account, now is a great time to sign up for the program!

I love the holidays, especially Thanksgiving, and I am very much looking forward to having my daughter home. The holidays are a time of parties and great food, which can be troublesome for the waistline! While drugs like Ozempic have their role in the treatment of diabetes, they are increasingly being used for quick weight loss for cosmetic purposes. There is never a substitute for good diet habits and exercise, and unfortunately, these drugs have associated risks, not the least of which is rebound weight gain. Other complications, such as dehydration and gastrointestinal obstruction can have serious health consequences. So, please, be careful if you feel tempted to try one of these drugs to fit into that special dress!

As we approach the holidays, it's always a great time to reflect on the people and things we are grateful for, even though we often get wrapped up (no pun intended) in gift buying, decorating, holiday meals, and entertaining. I, personally, am most thankful for my family and friends, and am fortunate to call so many of my so many of my patients and members of my practice "friends." So, thank YOU!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought I'd share a little throwback music video to remind us about the true spirit of the season! And if you're looking for a great little book to read to your children and or grandchildren, don't forget The Giving Tree, by Shel Silverstein. I'd also like to send out a teaser for some new Black Friday specials that we will be announcing next week. So keep a lookout on Instagram and Facebook! I hope you have a magical holiday and hope to see you soon!

Til next time,

Heidi Williams
