(FYI this is a repost) Once again, Happy Humpday! Time keeps marching on, it's almost February and the song "Ants Marching," by Dave Matthews, pops into my head. I hope everyone's year is off to a great start and that those New Year's resolutions are intact! So far, it has been an exciting time at our office. As many of you know, Anne retired at the end of December, and we have a great new crew. The new CO2 laser also arrived, and Kelly and I are LOVING it! It is the perfect complement to our existing technologies. The CO2 laser can treat a myriad of issues, not the least of which are wrinkles and aging skin! These winter months are also the perfect time for a CO2 treatment since the treatment necessitates staying out of the sun both before and after the treatment. It's also a good time to enhance those New Year's diet and exercise regimens with a little Coolsculpt!
On a personal note, January ushered in the start of the women's collegiate tennis season. As many of you know, my daughter is a Florida Gator. The team's kick-off tournament was at UNLV, and it happened to coincide with my birthday. So, I took advantage of the new Breeze airline flight to Vegas and headed to Sin City for the weekend. It was great to cheer on the Gator women. The city was also celebrating the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Water Rabbit. Putting aside political tensions between the two countries (and the lingering questions as to the true origin of Covid), the display in the conservatory at the Bellagio was nothing short of spectacular, and the floral arrangements and decorations all had symbolic meaning. I hope you enjoy some pictures I took.
The new year has also brought some sad news, however. My colleague, Jack Hensel, suffered a massive stroke just over a week ago and is fighting for his life. The stroke happened while skiing in Breckinridge, CO, and from what I gather, it occurred as a result of altitude sickness and a phenomenon called HACE (high altitude cerebral edema). I didn't realize that Breckinridge is at a higher altitude than many other ski resorts, but I pass along this information to caution those planning ski trips this winter/spring break since the transition from our locale at sea level to high mountain resorts can definitely cause health issues. If you are planning a ski trip, you may want to consult with your primary care physician prior to travel.

I love this song for its catchy tune, but I also chose it because of yesterday's Senate hearings over Ticketmaster's disastrous release of Taylor Swift's concert tickets. And I also have to throw a dig at our politicians before I leave you, especially with all of the "classified documents" mess...In an interview with Senator Blumenthal, he quoted a line from the song, "I'm the problem, it's me," when describing Ticketmaster. I guess the Senator missed another line in the song: "Did you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism like some kind of congressman? (Tale as old as time)." You can't make it up!
